David was born on May 10, 1937, to Bebe Sarah (Bahcall) Balkansky and Bernard Balkansky in Manitowoc. He was born on April 2, 1946. Beloved son of the late Judith Ben-Hur (nee Horwitz) and Shia (Candace) Ben-Hur. Where. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Mann officiated. He was educated at the University of Vermont, both undergraduate and medical school; and then after an internship at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center he did a residency in psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he joined the faculty and became director of outpatient services.
